Reaching your financial goals involves protecting your assets as well as managing them.

A recent study by the IFSA indicated that over 95% of Australians are grossly underinsured. Many Australians do have some level of life insurance cover through their superannuation, however the problem is that the level of cover is just not enough – especially if a claim needs to be made. This research also found that men and women who are aged 45 to 64 were most susceptible from a lack of adequate coverage.

At National Financial Advisors, we understand wealth protection is all about protecting your way of life, and we can assist you in doing this by:

  • Balancing and managing your level of cover so it’s both adequate and not unnecessarily high
  • Creating a protection plan which is relevant to your situation to cover you and your family
  • Providing protection for your family, your assets, and your income
  • Ensuring your superannuation and investment strategies are tailored to your appropriate risk profile

Types of Insurance

Insurance is an important part of planning for the future and will protect your assets should something happen. There are four main types of insurance in Australia that you should be considering and that we can help you with:

Life insurance – Life insurance is important to help secure your family’s financial future, in the event that you're no longer around to help.

Total Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance – A serious injury or illness can make life difficult if it leads to loss of continued employment, and hence your family without a source of income. Total Permanent Disability insurance cover will provide your family with a financial safety net for such events.

Income Protection – Income protection insurance replaces the income lost through your inability to work due to injury or sickness.

Trauma Insurance – Trauma cover is also referred to as 'critical illness' cover or 'recovery' insurance. Trauma insurance provides cover if you are diagnosed with a specified illness or injury. These policies include major illnesses or injuries that would make a significant impact on a person's life, such as cancer or a stroke.
